Derrick Collins is in his 23rd year as an NBA official. He began his journey as a pro basketball referee in the CBA and WNBA before joining the NBA in the 1999-2000 season. Since that first season, he has officiated over 1200 NBA games including postseason. 

Today on the show, Derrick Collins shares his story of becoming an NBA official, refereeing Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, trusting God in the midst of the grind of a long season, and the importance of growing in his prayer life.

Jordan Matthews is an NFL tight end with the San Francisco 49ers. He was originally drafted as a wide receiver by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Over his nine year career, he has spent time with the Eagles, Bills, Patriots and now the 49ers. 

In college, Matthews attended Vanderbilt University, where he had 262 receptions for 3,759 yards and 24 touchdowns, setting many school records.

Today on the podcast, Jordan joins Jade McCarthy and Jason Romano to discuss his transition to the tight end position, suffering a torn ACL at training camp in August 2022, reminding trustworthy to God's plan after the injury and his desire to rehab and continue playing football.

Mike Weller is the associate professor of athletic training at Cedarville University in Ohio. He is helping lead Cedarville’s program to new heights with the start of the Master of Athletic Training degree, which launched in June 2022.

Beyond Cedarville, he has served as the staff athletic trainer for the Cincinnati Bengals training camp since 2011. He also has worked for the National Football league as the eyes in the sky during Bengals football games to alert team medical staff about potential concussions.

Carlos PenaVega is a actor and singer and a member of the group Big Time Rush. He starred in the Nickelodeon series Big Time Rush from 2009-2013 and has been a part of multiple television and film roles in his eighteen year career.

After appearing on multiple albums with Big Time Rush, PenaVega pursued a solo career and released his first solo single, "Electrico" in 2014. That same year, he married his wife Alexas and in 2022, wrote their first book together, "What if Love is the Point: Living for Jesus in a Self-Consumed World?"

Today on the podcast, we talk to Carlos about his love for sport, meeting his wife at a Bible study, living out his faith in Hollywood, and staying true to yourself.

Bryce Young is the starting quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide. In 2021, he won the Heisman Trophy and was named AP College Football Player of the Year after throwing for 4,872 yards and 48 touchdowns, leading Alabama to 13 wins and a berth in the College Football National Championship Game.

David Pollack is a college football analyst for ESPN. He was selected 17th overall in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, but his career was cut short by a neck injury sustained Sept. 17, 2006, in a game against the Cleveland Browns.

As a defensive end at the University of Georgia, he was just the second Bulldog to be named a three-time All-American (Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker was the first). Pollack was the 2002 SEC Player of the Year, the 2003 and 2004 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2020.

He joined ESPN in 2009 and has been a staple on their signature college football show, College Gameday, each Saturday morning in the fall.

Rich Gannon is a former NFL QB who played 18 seasons with Minnesota, Washington, Kansas City and Oakland. He was the 2002 NFL Most Valuable Player and led the Raiders to the AFC championship and a trip to Super Bowl XXXVII. 

After his NFL career, Gannon moved to the broadcasting booth and called NFL games for CBS Sports from 2005 to 2020. He is currently doing broadcast work with the CBS Sports Network and SiriusXM's NFL radio. 

Today on the podcast, we talk to the four-time Pro Bowl QB about his NFL MVP season, the 2001 infamous Tuck Rule game, his journey of faith in Jesus and the importance of staying connected and focused on Christ.

Steve Palazzolo is a former pro baseball pitcher who is currently a senior analyst with Pro Football Focus, a football analytics website.

He played his college baseball at UMass-Lowell and wasn’t drafted, but signed to play independent-league ball with the Florence Freedom in Kentucky. He was able to turn that opportunity into an eight-year pro baseball career that saw him reach as high as Triple-A with the Brewers, Giants and Mariners organizations.

After his baseball career came to an end in 2011, he pursued his passion to work in pro football, joining Cris Collinsworth and the team from Pro Football Focus. Palazzolo currently lives in Cincinnati with his wife and four children, and serves in the local church and with a local addiction program called “Heritage House.”

On today’s podcast, we talk to Palazzolo about the 2022 NFL season, looking back at the NFL offseason, the team he thinks will take a leap and the team he thinks will regress. Don Munson is the Director of Broadcasting and the play-by-play voice of the Clemson Tigers. Munson serves as the play-by-play broadcaster for Clemson football, men’s basketball and baseball. Additionally, he hosts weekly football and basketball coaches shows, works in conjunction with the video and communication departments to provide assistance with video features, hosts banquets and meetings and represents the athletic department at various functions.

Today on the podcast, we talk to Don Munson about the ascension of Clemson football, his relationship with Dabo Swinney, how his faith in Christ keeps him centered, being the dad of a special needs child and why he is so open about sharing Jesus with others.

Jordan Kunaszyk is a professional football player. He went undrafted in 2019 after a college football career at Cal that saw him named as a First-Team All-Pac-12 in 2018. After signing with the Panthers in 2019, he spent 2020 and 2021 with Washington.

Greg Ellis is currently the head football coach at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. Ellis is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, where he starred as a three-time First-Team All-ACC and was selected 8th overall in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys.

Ellis played eleven seasons with the Cowboys from 1998-2008 and then finished up his final season in 2009 with the Oakland Raiders. In 2007, he had 12 5 sacks, was selected to the NFC Pro Bowl roster and was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year. He is third on the Cowboys all-time sack leader list.

Ally Ewing is a professional golfer on the LPGA Tour. She played college golf at Mississippi State University where she won five events including the Mississippi State Amateur twice and the North and South Women's Amateur. She played on the winning U.S. teams in the 2013 Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship and the 2014 Curtis Cup.

In October 2020, Ewing won won her first LPGA victory, winning the LPGA Drive On Championship. In May 2021, she won the Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play at Shadow Creek Golf Course in North Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a member of the United States team at the Solheim Cup in 2019 and 2021.

Malik Reed is a professional football player with the Denver Broncos. After playing his college football at Nevada, Reed signed as an undrafted free agent with Denver and immediately made an impact, making the team and contributing two sacks in 15 games played. In 2020, he took a leap and started 13 of 16 games and contributing a team-leading eight sacks.

In October 2021, Reed registered his fourth career multi-sack game and tallied three solo tackles, two quarterback takedowns, one forced fumble and one pass defensed vs. Washington becoming just the third Bronco to accumulate at least two sacks, one forced fumble and one pass defensed in the same game.

Grace Lyons is a shortstop for the Oklahoma Sooners softball team. She has helped her team win back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022. This past season, she hit .401 with 23 home runs and 70 RBI. Her steady play at shortstop only saw her make six errors the entire season and she was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year.

Lyons was also recently named to the 2022 U.S. Women's National Team (WNT) roster for the Japan All-Star Series, USA Softball that took place in early August.

Today on the podcast, we talk to Grace Lyons about winning a second national championship, the spiritual growth she's had in her college career and why her desire is to live a life serving Jesus Christ in obedience.

Paul Allen has been the voice of the Minnesota Vikings Radio Network since 2002. He also hosts a daily show "Allen's Page" on KFAN radio in Minneapolis and is the voice at Canterbury Park horse racing each summer. He's called more than 40,000 horse races and over 400 Minnesota Vikings games.

Allen came to faith in Christ at age 52 in June of 2019 and is also now the host of the "Faith and Goal Podcast" intersecting sports and faith.

Today on the show, we talk to Paul Allen about his role as a broadcaster, his desire to study the Bible and why at age 52, he decided to surrender his life to Jesus.

Shane Beamer is the head football coach at South Carolina. He just finished his first season with the Gamecocks in 2021 and went 7-6 and won the Duke's Mayo Bowl 38-21 over North Carolina.

Beamer is the son of former Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer and played football for his father in the late 1990's as a wide receiver and long snapper. Following in the footsteps of his dad, Beamer was a grad assistant and assistant coach for 20 years with Tennessee, South Carolina Virginia Tech, Georgia and Oklahoma before getting his first head coaching job in December 2020 with South Carolina.

Today on the podcast, we talk to Shane Beamer about his coaching style, the experience his first head coaching job, lessons learned from his football coaching father and how his faith keeps him grounded each day.

Brandon Puffer was a former professional baseball pitcher. He was selected in the 27th round of the 1994 MLB Draft by the Minnesota Twins. After stints with the Angels, Reds and Rockies, Puffer signed with the Astros and made his MLB debut on April 17, 2002. He also had stints with the Red Sox, Padres and Giants. 

In 2008, Puffer's baseball career ended when he was arrested for burglary of a habitation with the intent to commit a felony. Puffer was found guilty in 2009 and sentenced to five years in prison. He made parole in 2011 after more than three years in prison and since then has restored his life and is back in baseball as the co-founder of GPS Texas Baseball where he is a pitching instructor and coach. 

Today on the podcast, we talk to Brandon Puffer about his love for baseball, making it to the Big Leagues, being arrested, his time in prison and how God has redeemed and restored him for a new purpose in life.

Jonathan Evans is the team chaplain for the Dallas Cowboys and an accomplished speaker, teacher and author. He currently serves on the pastoral staff at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship with his father, Dr. Tony Evans. His sister, Priscilla Shirer, is a speaker, author and actor, and his brother, Anthony, is a singer and worship leader.

Jonathan played college football at Baylor, was an undrafted free agent in 2005, and spent time in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys under head coach Bill Parcells. After football was over, Evans got his master’s degree in Christian leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary. His latest book, "Your Time is Now Devotional" was released in 2022.

Today on the podcast, Evans joins Jade McCarthy sharing stories of parenting, his pro football journey, becoming the Cowboys chaplain and finding balance in his busy life.

Ty Summers is a linebacker with the Packers. He was selected in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft by Green Bay (226th overall) and has found himself as a core special teams player in the NFL. 

In college at TCU, Summers received second team All-Big 12 honors in 2016 and honorable mention All-Big 12 honors in 2017 and 2018. He was selected as the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week after finishing with a career-high 23 tackles (seven solo) in a 28-21 double-overtime victory vs. Baylor on November 27, 2017. He was named one of the TCU Fellowship of Christian Athletes Bob Lilly Athletes of the Year award recipients for the 2017-18 academic year.

Maggi Thorne is a mother of 3 and an American Ninja Warrior 7x competitor. She was the second mom up the warped wall and the first to beat the salmon ladder. In 2013, she placed second at The Worlds Toughest Mudder running 75 miles and completing 330 obstacles in 24 hours.

Thorne has also served as a Global Ambassador for feedONE traveling the world in an effort to further the mission of giving others the gift of a nutritious meal. She's also the CEO of JoyFlowCo, helping active women of all ages by empowering, equipping and encouraging other females.

Today on the podcast, we talk to Maggi about going from being an atheist to a follower of Christ, coping with the loss of her brother, how she came to participate on American Ninja Warrior, and the goal she has to use her platform to love and serve others like Jesus.
